About the book

Backcountry huts keep a notebook by the door where walkers jot down what they did and what the weather was like.

This site borrows the idea. Each game is a hut on a track, and its entry records the visit: how it began, how it felt after dark, what the page said.

Each entry sticks to what the game’s own site shows. Where a point is unclear, it is left out rather than guessed.

There are no scores, stars, rankings or screenshots of the games. The pictures on this site are illustrations of mountain huts and tracks, made for it.

Switchback Hut Book is an independent project with no company name attached and no link to any game developer or publisher. It isn’t the site of any game it mentions.

Links to the games’ sites may earn a referral commission. That doesn’t change what an entry says, and nothing on the site is sold.

Games change their pages. If an entry no longer matches, write to [email protected] and it will be fixed.
