The first clearing
A welcome box appears first and asks whether to turn on online saving, with a button to decline. Behind it sits a Food meter reading 0 / 500 and a Gather button.
Evening in the camp
A message log at the top right has tabs named Story, Loot, Unlocks and Combat. The opening story line has a green shimmer, a fall to the ground and a note that hunger is setting in.
Leaving a clear mark
The game autosaves in the browser, so clearing site data may wipe a run; the Save menu is worth a look before that. It points to the Export button, or the Online Saving option under Settings, as the backup.
A bar along the bottom holds Save, Export, Import, Stats, Achieves and Settings.
What the book remembers
A version number, 5.10.1 when this was written, sits in the bottom bar with a What’s New link. The bar also carries a running timer.
Who it suits
Readers who enjoy watching meters fill and who are comfortable keeping a backup file of their own progress.
What it runs on
The welcome box names Chrome and Firefox as the only fully supported browsers right now. The game also needs JavaScript, and says so if a script blocker is in the way.
Start gathering
Trimps runs on its own site, in a new tab. This page is only a set of notes.
